Terms of Service
Last updated June 9, 2026
This is a template agreement provided for development. It must be reviewed and finalized with legal counsel before App Store submission.
Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Parse (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service
Parse is a private journaling app that automatically assembles signals from your day — such as calendar events, photos, health metrics, music, and places — and uses third-party large language model providers to generate written, searchable journal entries on your behalf. The Service depends on the device permissions and third-party connections you choose to enable.
Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use Parse. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
Subscriptions, free trial & billing
Parse is offered as a monthly auto-renewing subscription that includes a 7-day free trial. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (or the trial), your subscription will automatically renew and your account will be charged the applicable rate. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple account settings. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable; refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies.
Your content
The data you bring into Parse and the journal entries generated from it are yours. You grant us a limited license to process this content solely to operate and provide the Service — including sending the necessary data to our backend and to third-party LLM providers (currently Google Gemini and/or OpenRouter) to generate your entries. You are responsible for the content you choose to include and for ensuring you have the right to use it.
Third-party services
The Service integrates with third parties including Apple, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, Strava, and Spotify. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or availability of third-party services, and connections may change or be discontinued.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to access it through unauthorized means, interfering with its operation, reverse-engineering it, or using it to violate any law or the rights of others.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Journal entries are generated automatically by AI models and may contain inaccuracies; they are not a substitute for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Parse and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
